Because not everything fits in the canYour Community, Our Service Area
WFWRD provides garbage, recycling, green waste, and seasonal programs to households across Salt Lake County.
Basic Residential Service
- 1 garbage can + 1 recycle can included
- Additional cans available
- Start-up fee applies to new builds
- Billing switches to monthly in 2026
Quick Collection Tips
- Set cans out by 7:00 AM
- 3 feet of space around all cans
- Face lids toward the street
- No hot ashes or fireworks
- Remove cans within 12 hours after collection
Can Etiquette
- Keep 3 ft of clearance around each can
- Place cans with the lid opening facing the street
- Make sure lids can fully (or nearly) close
- Avoid blocking or overloading cans
Maintain a 3-Foot Safety Bubble
This helps the truck arm safely reach your cans without hitting trees, cars, or fences.
